- 03Choose behind or on top, and whether the letterhead has a separate continuation page.

A PDF, not a picture
Image stamps turn a logo into pixels, which look soft when printed and blur when zoomed. Here the letterhead page itself is placed on each page of your document, so rules stay crisp, colours stay exact and the company address in the footer is still text. The letterhead’s own pages are left out of the result.
First page and continuation pages
Many letterheads come as two pages: the full design for page one, and a quieter version for the pages after. Choose "Page 1 first, page 2 after" and each is used where it belongs. "Page for page" lays a multi-page template over the document one page each.
Behind, or on top
Behind is right for most letters: the letterhead sits under the text like printed stationery. It cannot show through a scanned page, though — a scan is a picture covering the whole sheet — so the panel warns you and suggests placing it on top instead.
Different page sizes
If the letterhead is A4 and the document is Letter, or a page is shown landscape, the letterhead is scaled to fit each page, centred and upright. It is never stretched out of proportion or cropped.
Questions
- Can I see the letterhead before I export?
- Yes. Each page finishes rendering through the same code the export uses, so the letterhead appears on the pages in the editor exactly as it will in the file.
- Which file is treated as the letterhead?
- The last one you opened, by default. If you opened the letterhead first, choose "The first file opened" instead.
- Are my documents uploaded?
- No. Both PDFs are combined by your browser, and neither leaves your device.
